An acrylic painting of the once again heavyweight champion Cain Velasquez. I think it took about 4-5 hours. I had loads of fun doing it, as you can see I used yellow as the colour for the highlights instead of white because I just think colours make for more exciting highlights. Colours are the shiz yo, I just love using bold colours in paintings.
The background is the Mexican flag, messy on purpose because the style of the portrait would not fly with a harshly linear background, I don't think at least.
Also, I have noticed that a lot of my paintings tend to look better at a distance. Zoom out if you can, it's interesting to see how different it is without the paint strokes showing so heavily.
